Tajikistan denies the landing of the Afghan President’s plane on its soil, amid conflicting reports about his whereabouts
Dushanbe (ST)_The Tajik Foreign Ministry announced that the plane carrying Afghan President Ashraf Ghani did not enter Tajikistan’s airspace and did not land on the country’s territory.
RIA Novosti news agency quoted a statement from the ministry as saying: ” Ashraf Ghani’s plane did not enter Tajikistan’s airspace and did not land on the country’s territory, and the Tajik side did not receive a request in this regard from the Afghan side”.
Yesterday, media outlets reported that Ghani had left the capital, Kabul, for Tajikistan.
In turn, the Afghan embassy in Uzbekistan confirmed that there is no information about Ghani’s presence in Uzbekistan.
