The Syrian junior football team qualified for the semi-finals of the West Asian Championship held in Jordan after defeating the Bahraini team by two goals to one.
Mahmoud Al-Hassan scored for the Syrian team in the 70th minute and Abdulrahman Dinawi in the 92nd minute.
The Syrian team tied in its first match with its Palestinian counterpart with one goal each. It topped the standings of its group with four points, followed by the Palestinian team with two points and the Bahraini team with one point.
The Syrian team will face the Yemeni team in the semi-finals, while the Iraqi and Saudi teams will play in the other match.
Nine teams will participate in the tournament, divided into three groups, where our team came in the third group, along with Bahrain and Palestine, and the first will qualify directly to the semi-finals, in addition to the best second from the three groups at the end of the first round.
