Syria’s national football team plays a friendly match with the Vietnamese team at the conclusion of its training camp in Vietnam
Hanoi, (ST) – Syria’s national football team will conclude its training camp in Vietnam with a friendly match with its Vietnamese counterpart at Tien Trung Stadium in Nam Dinh at 3:30 pm Damascus time.
“The camp that our national team started last Sunday, led by coach Hector Cuper, witnessed various training sessions, amid high morale of the players to achieve a positive result that gives them an important impetus to continue their preparedness plan to enter competitions in the upcoming Asian finals.
The Syrian national team will participate in the Asian Cup in Qatar in the second group, along with the teams of Uzbekistan, Australia and India. The team will start playing the matches on the 13th of next January with Uzbekistan, then face Australia on the 19th of the same month, and conclude its matches against India on the 25th of the same month.
The first group included Qatar, China, Tajikistan and Lebanon. The third contains Iran, the UAE, Hong Kong and Palestine, the fourth contains Japan, Iraq, Indonesia and Vietnam, the fifth contains South Korea, Malaysia, Jordan and Bahrain, and the sixth contains Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Kyrgyzstan and Oman.
It is noteworthy that the system of tournament provides for qualifying the first and second winners of each group and best four teams that rank third in the second round.
