Syrians’ role in foiling conspiracy discussed

DAMASCUS,(ST)_The Baath dialogue Forum has zeroed in on Syrians’ role in foiling the conspiracy against their homeland at national level.

The participants in the forum, which was held by the Baath Arab Socialist Party on the occasion of the 44 anniversary of the Correction Movement, talked about the reasons of conspiracy and goals of the war on Syria as well as ways of enhancing Syrians’ awareness.

Culture Minister Isam Khalil said: “One of the main reasons behind conspiracy on Syrian people is that Syria had become a modern and developed state after the correction movement.”

He underlined the necessity of enriching Arab thinking which is based on Arabism and national principles in order to revive the Arab cultural project in which everyone accepts dialogue with the other.

The Minister called for attaching great importance to children’s culture and enhancing resistance culture among Syrians.

Cognitive and religious discourses

On his part, Imam of the ‘Omayyad’ Mosque Sheikh Ma’amoun Rahmeh stressed that the war on Syria targets Islam and Christianity. “Syrians must prove to the world that they will never abandon their civilization and culture.”

He appealed to Syrians to abide by Islam principles to foil the conspiracy and defeat the foreign-backed terrorists.

Head of the Arab Writers Union Hussien Jom’a underscored need for reviewing cognitive and religious discourses, holding a real national dialogue in Syria and drawing up a social contract based on belongingness and equality.
