Syrians Nationwide Rally in Support for Presidential Elections, Army’s Battle against Terrorism

PROVINCES, (ST)- The Syrian people across the country affirm their support for national principles and for holding presidential elections. They voiced solidarity with the Syrian Arab Army in its battle against terrorism.

Citizens, representing different categories of the Syrian society in several Syrian provinces, including Damascus Countryside, Aleppo, Daraa and Tartous, organized mass rallies to express their support for the coming presidential elections and for democracy and pluralism. They confirmed their participation in the voting process which expresses the independency of the Syrian decision.

Speakers at the rallies asserted that the best response to the “Western freedom” allegations is to go to ballot boxes and vote for the hoped-for presidential candidate who preserves Syria’s unity and dignity.

Participants also stressed that the issue of presidential elections is an internal Syrian affair and that only the Syrian people have the right to decide who will lead them away from any foreign dictates.
