Members of the Syrian community in Sweden celebrated the anniversary of the October Liberation War and the Correctionist Movement in a national event organized by the National Union of Syrian Expatriates in Sweden and Europe, in the presence of the First Secretary of the Syrian Embassy, Ihab Al-Youssef, at the People’s Hall in Stockholm, Halunda region.
President of the Union, Dr. Gabi Isho, underlined the importance of the October liberation war and the Correctionist Movement in the memory of the Syrians and the continuous heroism of the Syrian Arab Army in making sacrifices and achieving victories. He stressed that the Syrians in the expatriate renewed their position in support of their mother country and their confidence in achieving victory and the return of security and stability to it.
In his speech, the First Secretary of the Syrian Embassy, Ihab Al-Youssef, highlighted the importance of the role of the Syrian expatriates in taking the initiative and participating in the reconstruction of their mother country, which confronted the terrorist war. He noted that the successes and distinctions of the expatriates constitute a civilized bridge of communication between the motherland and the world through the embodiment of our civilization and culture among other people.
Expatriate institutions and associations participated in the event, which talked about the importance of reviving national occasions and holidays for expatriates, and the role of Syrians in supporting their mother country, Syria in various fields.
