Syrians in Cuba Voice Solidarity with Venezuela against US Conspiracy

HAVANA-The Syrian students and community in Cuba as well as the staff of the Syrian Embassy in Havana have voiced solidarity with the people and leadership of Venezuela in the confrontation of the US continuous attempts to destabilize the Venezuelan State.

They visited the Venezuelan Embassy in Havana to take part in a solidarity campaign aiming to call on the US President Barack Obama to cancel a decree he issued recently in which he claimed that “Venezuela represents an unusual threat to the US national security”.

“The conspiracy facing Venezuela is similar to that Syria has been facing over the past four years,” the Syrian students and community stressed, pointing out that “the US, its allies and tools in the region used to hatch conspiracies against every country trying to defend its dignity, sovereignty and independence, but victory will ever be for freedom-loving peoples”.

On her part, the Venezuelan Charge de Affairs in Cuba Vivian Alvarado thanked the Syrian students and community in Cuba for their solidarity stance, reiterating Venezuela’s support for the Syrian people and leadership in the face of the critical circumstances in the country.

Alvarado pointed out that imperialism and its allies have been working for the past four years to launch a terrorist aggression on Syria aiming to destroy the state and overthrow its legitimate government which has defended the country’s sovereignty, dignity and independence.

She clarified that the scheme facing Venezuela targets all freedom-loving peoples including the Venezuelan and the Syrian.

The solidarity campaign is led by President Nicolas Maduro of Venezuela aiming to collect 10 million signatures in Venezuela and the world as to call on President Obama to cancel the recently issued decree in which he claimed that Venezuela represents an unusual threat to the US national security and imposed new sanctions on Venezuelan officials for alleged human rights violations.
