SOFIA, (ST) _ Several members of the Syrian community in Bulgaria participated in a march organized today (Sunday) by the Bulgarian Popular Committee for the sovereignty of Bulgaria and the countries of the world, in Sofia, marking the 70th anniversary of the victory over Nazism.
The march started from the premises of the Bulgarian presidency through the parliament building up to the Soviet Army monument, where a wreath of flowers was laid in honor of the martyrs of the war against Nazism.
Participants in the march hoisted Bulgarian, Syrian, Russian flags, chanting slogans denouncing the NATO, and commemorating Bulgarian- Russian fraternal relations.
At the end of the march, which was attended by a large crowd of Bulgarians and Russian citizens, a concert was held.
On Saturday, Russia celebrated the 70th anniversary of the victory over Nazism in the Great Patriotic War and 26 Russian cities witnessed huge military parades, with the participation of 85,000 Russian troopers, whereas the Red Square in Moscow witnessed the biggest military parade in the Russian history, in the presence of 30 heads of state and 40 foreign officials.
