Syrians Deplore Bab Touma Blast

 DAMASCUS,(ST)_ The terrorist explosion which hit Bab Touma square yesterday raised the indignation and wrath  of its  citizens and shopkeepers  who vowed that the crimes of the terrorists will not undermine their steadfastness, and they will adhere to the national unity of the land of Syria

“The terrorists who carried out this cowardly act target innocent citizens wherever they are, in their homes and outside .. In this busy place , there are  children , who are going to school and persons who went out to work or for shopping”, said priest Gabriel David of the Assyrian-Orthodox Patriarchate,  wondering :” where are they from justice, humanity and love ..They  even lack  the slightest morals awarded by the God Almighty.”

Maher Kholi , a resident of Bab Touma said that the blast  will not undermine the determination of the Syrians in the defense of their country.

Raef Fallouh , who was paying  the electricity bill near the place,  minutes before the blast, questioned :  “Is this blast  a gift from the  terrorists and their financiers abroad for the Syrians on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, ?”. He vowed “we” will stay together in the face of terrorism, defending our homeland despite all the threats and crimes committed by armed terrorist groups.”

He added .. “The scene was awful .. The Martyrs are old  and junior . One martyr was a cleaning worker. I  saw him before the blast cleaning  the square.”

Georges Henein, a worker in a restaurant overlooking the Bab Touma Square .. “I saw women , children and men drenched in blood in the center of the square,” he said, referring to his white shirt stained with the blood of the martyrs .. ” This is the freedom advocated by terrorists and criminals of Gulf sheikhdoms .. We want retribution from criminals .. The Syrians will not be scared  of their terrorism and will win victory in the end  against the enemy.”

For his part, Safwan al-Taweel,  owner of a hair-dressing  salon expressed shock at what he saw of Syrian pure blood flowing in Bab Touma Square,  while Anton Jacob emphasized that the whole of Syria is  targeted by terrorists  .. Yesterday, they  burned the  historical markets in Aleppo and assaulted the Krak des Chevaliers in Homs and the Great Umayyad Mosque and today they  are targeting the historic square which stands as a  witness  to civilization and originality .. They want to destroy the history and people of Syria, but these terrorist acts will  but enhance our national unity.
