Damascus (ST) – As part of the activities of the Third Syrian Book Fair, a book signing ceremony was held on Sunday at the Assad National Library for the book “Syrian Women in History… Heroism and Exploits” by the writer Huda Abdullah Al-Shahada, published by the Arab Writers Union.
The book explains many stages in the life of the Syrian woman, in which the strength, greatness and ability of women to create in various aspects were manifested.
Shahada stated that she documented the history of Syrian women in a distinctive way, and it is an honest document about their struggle and sacrifices to obtain their gains to create a bright tomorrow for future generations. It also discussed, in three chapters, Syrian women throughout history, the political, social, and economic empowerment of women, and Syrian women in constitutional, legal and regulatory texts.
The writer also worked to reflect an honest image of the status of women in Syrian society, and their contributions to shaping and making life, as it is not easy for women to be separated from their history, as history is the memory of the nation. There is no doubt that this memory is full of wisdom and advice, and it must be used in the modern construction process.
It is worth noting that the writer Huda Abdullah Shahada holds a BA in English Literature and postgraduate studies in literature from Damascus University.
