Syrian Wide Participation in the Russian-Arab Business Exhibition

MOSCOW – The twelfth session of the Arab-Russian Businessmen Council continued its work for the second day in Moscow, in conjunction with the continuation of the exhibition “Arabia Expo” with a Syrian participation that included products of various industries.

Russian Deputy President of Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dmitry Potalco, welcomed the Syrian participation, pointing out that the wide participation of Syrian products in the exhibition “Arabia Expo” confirms that Syria has regained its strength and the recovery of its economy.

For his part, Advisor to the Vice-President of the Russian Federation Council, Andrei Baklanov, said: The Russian side attaches great importance to deepening economic and trade relations with Syria, calling for working to develop cooperation relations in all aspects and to upgrade them to higher levels and not only in trade, but also in the establishment of joint production projects In industry, agriculture and other sectors..

“Syria has always participated in all international exhibitions and forums in the interest of the presence of our companies and products,” said Ibrahim Maida, Director of Support and Development of Domestic Production and Exports Association affiliated to the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade, in a statement to SANA correspondent in Moscow. He added that “The exhibition is a good opportunity to Businessmen and representatives of companies.”

Mr. Maida pointed out that “there are meetings taking place on the sidelines of the exhibition to communicate and exchange information to develop economic, trade and investment relations between the participating countries to develop and promote these relations.”

The Director-General of Al-Durra Company in Syria, Mohammed Qider Ahmed said that participation in the Russian-Arab Council and its activities reflect the importance of the Arab-Russian economic relations for the coming years and establish stronger and deeper relations that require the interest of all, expressing the aspirations of Syrian businessmen that more facilities prevail trade relations by the Russian side.

The member of the Syrian Chamber of Industry, Majd Shishman, said that the Syrian participation in the exhibition (Arabia Expo) is one of the largest participations. He explained that the great Syrian participation in this exhibition sends an important message that we are in Syria able to restore our industry and our ability to export our products as before.

For his part, Dr. Eyad Hassan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Iyad Hassan Company for Tourism and Real Estate Investments who is a member of the Syrian Business Council, confirmed that participation in the exhibition and accompanying conference aims to improve economic cooperation with Russia to include investment projects in Syria and Russia.
