Syrian weightlifters fifth in AWC

The U-15 national weightlifting team have finished fifth in the Asia Weightlifting Championship which was hosted by Thailand.

Scores of weightlifters representing 16 Asian teams competed in the one-week long event.

With this result,the national team booked their berth in the World Championship which will be staged in China.

The national team ,who represented Syria in the event,included the following weightlifters:Hasan Sheikh(56kg);Jaber Jassem(56 kg);Ahmad Mohammad(62kg);Hadi Qurbi(62 kg);Mohammad al-Mohammad(69 kg);Mohsen Greishg(77kg);Mohsen Issa(85 kg);Yaroub Issa(105 kg) and Leith Hakim(105 kg).
