On March 6th, the Syrian Ambassador to Venezuela, Khalil Bitar, met with the Minister of People’s Authority for the Development of Mines and the Environment, Magali Henriguez.
Bitar and Henriguez discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to develop them in the field of energy, oil and mines, especially in light of the unilateral coercive measures imposed on the two countries by the United States of America and other western states.
During the meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the Syrian Embassy in Caracas, Henriguez referred to the possibility of Syrian companies and businessmen participating in investing in the natural resources that are abundant in Venezuela.
On the other hand, Ambassador Bitar reviewed with the Deputy Minister of People’s Authority for Foreign Relations of Venezuela for Multilateral Affairs Daniela Rodriguez the prospects for strengthening and coordinating the stances between the two countries in the field of multilateral foreign relations.
The two sides stressed that Syria and Venezuela are strengthening common positions in defense of the interests of the two countries in addition to the principles and objectives of the United Nations Charter such as political sovereignty, independence and non-interference in internal affairs.
