Under the title “ HawaBahri ” , the Syria Trust for Development in Lattakia in cooperation with the City Council there , Lattakia’s Directorate of Tourism and “Mila” Mall launched “HawaBahri,” initiative.
“ This initiative aims at reviving the Corniche, which is part of the memory of the people in Lattakia city, and a tourist destination there” , according to Muhammad of the Syria Trust for Development.
He told a SANA reporter that the seats( benches along the corniche ) would be equipped with solar panels, a socket for charging mobile phones, and space for people with disabilities to facilitate their movement.
He pointed out that the initiative will continue to cover the entire corniche with the aim of providing basic services for its visitors to encourage them to practice several kinds of sport comfortably.
In turn, Head of the city council, Engineer Hussein Zengerli confirmed that the initiative is important in the field of improving the aesthetic reality within the city, especially in the western corniche, which is one of the most attractive destinations frequented by the residents of Lattakia.
He stressed that the council welcomes such initiatives and provides the necessary facilities to include the entire Corniche.
