Syrian team wins its first medal in BRICS Games

KAZAN, JUN.15, (ST)-The Syrian team won its first medal in the BRICS Games which is currently being held in the Russian city of Kazan, via badminton.

Hossam al-Rahi and Shadi al-Ansari won bronze medal in the men’s doubles team after defeating Burkina Faso team Friday (2-0) in the quarter-finals, (21-12) and (21-14), according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

The agency added that the women’s team and the Belarusian doubles team lost with a score of (2-0) in the quarter-finals, and Fulla Al-Najjar and Raneem Hasbani were represented in the competition.
