The Syrian team participating in the International “Alberto Coto” Mental Maths Olympiad, organized virtually by Spain, won two gold medals after ranking first in the competition for young age category. The team, alongside participants from 200 countries took part in this competition through the International Platform for Mental Maths
The coach of the team Rawda Al-Mukattaf said in a statement to SANA that the gold medals went to the participants Jad Al-Bayoush and Areen Sakir.
Two other Syrian participants: Azad Khalaf and Dara Jamal, ranked second in the competition.
According to Al-Mukattaf, the competition was conducted virtually under the supervision of the World Champion in Mental Maths Alberto Coto, who has broken world records in this field.
Three other participants from Syria: Nasema Tamer, Aysha Al-Mimo and Jalal Mohammad Abbas won bronze medals in this competition.
