Syrian teachers more determined to perform sublime duty despite terrorist threats

Teachers’ Day is celebrated as an acknowledgment to the valuable role made by teachers to the society by imparting knowledge and enlightening and shaping the career of students in various domains of life. Celebration of Teachers’ Day is fairly popular in many countries across the world.

In Syria, teachers are celebrating Teachers’ Day this year with more insistence to follow up their sublime message and important role in building up their homeland through creating generations that can make bright future for their homeland.

The devastation attempts made by the Takfiri terrorists to influence the educational process in Syria failed thanks to the high awareness of Syrian teachers who are confronting these criminal acts through their adherence to their national duty and continuous existence in their schools, universities and institutes to offer all kinds of education and objective thought to their students.

According to the statistics made by the Ministry of Education, about one hundred seventy nine teachers were killed as a result of the atrocious crimes committed by the armed terrorist groups. About 2445 schools in various Syrian governorates were damaged because of the brutal crimes committed by Wahhabi terrorists. Moreover, about three hundred employees in the field of education were subjected to the abduction crimes of the armed terrorist groups with the aim of impeding the process of education and development in Syria.

For students, Teachers’ Day is an occasion to pay reverence and gratitude to teachers for their selfless effort in shaping their career and enriching the educational system in the process.

The date for celebrating this special event varies from country to country across the world. In India, Teachers’ Day is celebrated on the 5th of September every year, whereas, China celebrates this event on 10th September every year. The celebration in each country is generally correlated to either significant personalities or achievements of milestone in the field of education. India celebrates Teachers’ Day on September 5 since 1962 as it is the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, a prominent thinker, philosopher and an educator.

Teachers have a remarkable role through their positive impact on both individual and society. Teachers are among the main factors that contribute to make students love their schools and education. They make students feel comfort through the great efforts they exert in the educational process. Teachers are capable to direct students’ thought towards objective and important things in their society.

On Teachers’ Day, greetings are sent to all Syrian teachers who are sacrificing their lives for the sake of their students and homeland defying Wahhabi takfiri terrorist threats with strong determination to press ahead with conveying their sublime message and noble duty.
