Syrian-Swedish talks to enhance cooperation in the field of transportation

Minister of Transport Dr. Yarab Badr discussed with the Chargé d’Affaires of the Swedish Embassy Jessica Svardström ways of joint cooperation in the field of transportation.

During the meeting held at the ministry’s building in Damascus today, the two sides reviewed development projects in various modes of transportation, stressing the need to find practical steps to achieve common goals and visions and benefit from Swedish experiences in the fields of transportation and communications.

Minister Badr pointed out the importance of strengthening bilateral relations in various fields, in a way that serves the interests of both countries, and the importance of increasing the volume of cooperation in the field of transportation by working to help Syria rehabilitate and develop the road and railway transportation system.

Svardström expressed her country’s readiness to provide full support to the Syrian people in the transportation sector, noting that the proposed ideas would be studied, experiences evaluated, and the necessary foundations for their implementation laid.
