Syrian students in Slovakia and activities in Austria call for an end to the coercive measures imposed on Syria

Damascus (ST): The “Hands Up Off Syria” initiative, the National Union of Syrian Students branch in Slovakia, and the Coalition Against Wars  have called for lifting of the unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people, referring to the dangers of the  continuity of  these measures, especially in light of the outbreak of the Corona pandemic.

In a statement, ahead of a protest stand organized by the three parties today in front of the European Commission Office in the center of the Austrian capital Vienna, they demanded the withdrawal of the Turkish and American occupying forces, which have been stealing the resources of   Syrian people, including gas, oil, wheat, water and others, with the aim of increasing their suffering.

The statement referred to the misleading campaign launched by some Western media outlets with the aim of distorting the truth, explaining that while Syria has been suffering from a terrorist war for 10 years and unfair coercive measures, the Western media has been ignoring the real causes and the actual parties responsible for that.

The statement stated that the war on Syria was provoked by the West and its regional agents who used all forms of terrorism against the Syrian state, especially the military and economic ones, warning against the continuation of the blockade imposed on the import of medical goods and medicine amid the outbreak of Corona pandemic.
