KUALA LAMPUR, BELGRADE, (ST) _ Syrians students in both Malaysia and Serbia stressed during the celebration marking the 61th anniversary of the Syrian student day that they are the homeland loyal defenders and contributors to the building of its future and the advancement of its society.
“The Syrian student embodies his love to the homeland through learning and hard work to gain knowledge that constitutes the pillar of the Syrian state and society,” said Mohammed Humaidan, Vice President of the National Union of Syrian Students NUSS’s branch in Malaysia in a speech during the event held yesterday, on this occasion.
Humaidan stressed that the Syrian electronic army formed by the Syria students is a great contributor in the current media battle, the country is experiencing, noting the heroic acts of the army and armed forces in protecting the homeland and challenging the Wahhabi extremism.
For his part, the Syrian charge de affaires in Kuala Lumpur expressed pride over the Syrian students struggle whose foundations were laid by late leader Hafez al-Assad through the NUSS which bears their hopes and aspirations to build the society on solid principles.
In Belgrade, chairman of the NUSS branch in Serbia, Lemke al-Khodor stressed during a celebration of the occasion, held in cooperation with the Syrian embassy in Belgrade, the importance of the results of the first Student Conference, which formed the basis of the Syrian student movement ideological and political values.
He underlined the importance of students return to the homeland and their participation in building its future and defending it, explaining the risks Syria is experiencing from systematic world l terrorism and the role played by the Syrian student in supporting his country, leadership, army and people in challenging fierce terrorist plots.
For their part, the participants expressed their appreciation for the sacrifices of the Syrian army against terrorism, voicing support for the homeland.
