Syrian short film “Nahri Bahri” wins the Jury Prize at the International Festival of Cinema and the Sea in Morocco

Damascus (ST): The Syrian short fiction film Nahri Bahri (River and Sea), directed by Almohanad Kalthoum and produced by the General Film Organization, won the Special Jury Prize at the conclusion of the 8th International Festival of Cinema and the Sea in Morocco.

The festival is organized by the Association of the International Festival of Cinema and the Sea in the province of Sidi Ifni and with the support of the Moroccan Film Center.

Ten short films from Syria, Morocco, Bahrain, Mauritania, Belgium and the United Kingdom competed for prizes.

 The film “Nahri Bahri” delves  into a deep problems and raises urgent questions about the nature of neglect in rural societies due to the dominance of major cities and the marginalization that these societies have been subjected to in the shadow of the war on Syria, through a love story that takes place in an exceptional place and far from the attention of the curious. The events revolve between a young man and a young woman united by intense love and who meet one night on the seashore on a night that will change their fate forever.

It is noteworthy that the film, written by Samer Mohamed Ismail, starring Abdel Moneim Amayri, Suhair Saleh and Maryam Ali.
