Syrian sculptor Aktham Abdel Hamid presents creative sculptural work in International Forum for Sculpture in Greece

The international Syrian sculptor Aktham Abdel Hamid directed, with his creative chisel, a message from the earth to the sky through his sculpture that he completed within the First International Forum for Marble Sculpture in the Greek city of Patres, which concluded its activities on Wednesday.

Regarding his sculptural work, Abdel Hamid said in a statement to SANA reporter, “During the forum, I completed a portrait of a woman calling for the cessation of wars all over the world to preserve human civilization, while at the same time carrying a message that art is capable of elevating human beings through the beauty it offers.”

Abdul Hamid, who received an invitation from the Patris City Council to participate in the forum, noted that he is the only Arab sculptor participating, along with sculptors from several countries around the world, including Canada, Armenia, Albania and other countries, in addition to the participation of a number of Greek sculptors.

Abdel Hamid pointed out that the city of Patris, which overlooks the Mediterranean Sea, occupies an important tourist site in Greece by owning several tourist seaports that receive large numbers of foreign tourists which allowed the participants in the forum to come into contact with a diverse audience of several nationalities.
