WARSAW, (ST) _ The Syrian scientific delegation, including Chairman of the Syrian National Scientific Olympic Imad al-Azab and rectors of Damascus and Tishreen Universities Dr. Hassan al-kurdi and Dr. Hani Shaaban, respectively discussed, during a meeting in Warsaw yesterday with President of the Polish Supreme Agricultural Academy, possibilities of cooperation between the Academy and the two Syrian universities.
The Polish professor expressed willingness and desire to discuss ways of maintaining cooperation between the two sides.
The Polish side welcomed the draft cooperation agreement presented by the Syrian scientific delegation, and the two sides agreed on bilateral cooperation in the framework of the Erasmus Plus European project.
Moreover, the Syrian delegation stressed during a meeting with Luigi Dinka Director of International Cooperation department at the Polish Ministry of Higher Education, the importance of re-activating scientific cooperation between the two countries, and means of benefiting from each other ‘s expertise in this area.
Dinka expressed happiness over what has been reached during the meetings held by the Syrian Scientific delegation with several presidents Polish universities, which will contribute positively to the activation of scientific cooperation and bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.
Dinka also noted that the Polish side decision to activate scientific and cultural relations with the countries of the region, especially Syria after a period of stagnation, and that attention will be focused on the graduates of Polish universities, pointing out that he would discuss with the Polish Foreign Ministry scholarships and free grants for the Syrian side.
The two meetings were attended by acting Syrian ambassador in Warsaw Dr. Idris Mayya.
