Syrian-Saudi Talks to Strengthen cooperation in Telecommunications and Digital Transformation 

The Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mr. Abdul Salam Heikal, discussed with the ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Damascus, Dr. Faisal Al-Mujfel, ways to develop cooperation in the communications and information technology sector, within the framework of supporting the reconstruction process.

During a meeting held today at the Ministry building, Minister Heikal stressed the importance of the telecommunications sector in improving the lives of citizens and enhancing economic development, referring to the ministry’s plan to develop digital infrastructure to keep pace with global development despite the challenges facing the implementing tation of this vision .

For his part, the Saudi ambassador noted the depth of historical relations between the two countries and his country’s readiness to provide technical support and take advantage of its leading expertise in the field of communications to help Syria with the formation of Joint task forces to implement projects.
