Syrian-Saudi Talks to Develop the Land Transport Sector

Minister of Transport, Dr. Yarub Badr, discussed with the Saudi Ambassador to Syria, Dr. Faisal Al-Mujfel, and the accompanying delegation, aspects of joint cooperation in various land transport sectors and ways to further develop and enhance them, in a manner that benefits the interests, prosperity, and growth of the two brotherly countries.

 

During the meeting held today at the Ministry of transport building , the two sides reviewed the facilitations that could be provided in this regard, as well as the stages of joint technical and strategic cooperation, in a way that contributes to integrating the transport sectors with the goals of economic and social development.

 

Dr. Badr emphasized the importance of strengthening relations between the two countries in various fields to serve their mutual interests.

 

He pointed out that the transport sector is the lifeline of economic and social activity, stressing the need for the Ministry to formulate comprehensive and integrated transport policies, ensure their implementation, and coordinate between all modes of transport

 

For his part, Dr. Al-Mujfel stressed the importance of exerting efforts to develop bilateral relations and to exchange ideas and visions to advance the transport sector in Syria, and to rebuild and revitalize it in the upcoming stage.

 

He also highlighted the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s role in providing all necessary facilitations to support Syria’s transport sector through the exchange of expertise, benefiting from Saudi models and experiences, particularly in the field of Saudi investors’ expertise in organizing land and domestic transport.

 

This is especially relevant as the Syrian Ministry of Transport is currently concerned with land and road transport, in addition to investment in this sector.
