Syrian-Russian talks to supply wheat to Syria

Damascus (ST): The Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Dr. Amr Nazir Salem, discussed with representatives of the Russian government companies Ozyka, Cestus and Offshore Company, the follow-up of the implementation of contracts concluded regarding the supply of wheat to Syria.

During the meeting, the supply schedule was reviewed and a work program was set for the next phase to follow up prospects for joint cooperation and to discuss new offers to supply Russian wheat during the next year, covering Syria’s need for wheat and the time frame for delivery with price offers.

Minister Salem noted the strength of Syrian-Russian relations and economic cooperation between the two countries in various fields and sectors, stressing the necessity to continue working with Russian companies and institutions to meet the needs of the local market, especially wheat.
