Syrian-Russian talks on prospects for developing cultural relations

Damascus (ST): The Minister of Culture, Dr. Lubana Mshaweh, discussed with a delegation from the Russian Federation headed by Lakina Olga Yuryevna, Deputy Director of the Presidency of the Russian Federation, cultural relations and the prospects for their development.

Dr. Mshaweh stressed the importance of psychologically supporting Syrian children, especially after the war they were exposed to, and exchanging experiences in all cultural fields, including music and folklore.

She explained that the first phase of the restoration of the Arc de Triumph in Palmyra has been completed and today is in the process of working on the second phase, which is characterized by technical difficulty and requires a lot of effort and expertise.

In turn, the Deputy Director of the Affairs of the Presidency of the Russian Federation indicated her country’s endeavor to develop the educational cultural program between the two friendly countries, which serves the younger generations, explaining that today a site and outlet for the library of the Russian Presidency was opened in the Russian Cultural Center in Damascus to be a gateway to Russian culture in Syria.
