“Syrian-Russian peace initiative” opens office in Tartous to provide humanitarian services to martyrs’ families

Tortous governorate and the Russian Coordination Center in Hmeimim on Saturday opened the office of the “Syrian-Russian Peace Initiative” in the city of Tartous with the aim of providing different humanitarian and social services to families of martyrs and the wounded in this area.

Salwa Shaaban, member of the initiative, told journalists after the opening ceremony that this initiative has a humanitarian and social nature. It aims at supporting families of the martyrs and the wounded as well as the poor families.

She added that through its offices in different Syrian provinces, the initiative has managed to hold several social and humanitarian activities, noting a plan to open other offices in the rest of the Syrian provinces in a later stage.

 On  his part, representative of the initiative in Tartous Firas Sa’duddin said that the Tartous office provides humanitarian and social assistance, referring to a plan to establish medical and educational centers in the coming stage with the aim of providing decent services.
