As part of the Syrian-Russian peace initiative , the Syrian-Russian Peace Educational Center was recently opened in Ashrafiyat Sahnaya in Damascus countryside.
It should be noted that the Syrian-Russian Peace Initiative was established in 2019 and is a comprehensive humanitarian and social initiative whose goal is to spread awareness, goodness, and peace in its scientific, economic, and social components.
“ As teaching is a sublime message, thus the main goal of the center is educational” Mr. Mo’atasem Najib, Head of the Syrian-Russian Peace Educational Center told Syriatimes e-newspaper.
The opening ceremony included honoring 50 families of the martyrs and wounded, and a number of outstanding students.
He indicated that the center carries out educational courses for all subjects of the secondary and high school levels and honors outstanding students every month, adding free courses are held for the families of the martyrs and the wounded.
Mr. Najib added that the center will hold courses in several fields, including medicine, drawing, sculpture, music, calligraphy, engineering in addition to courses to teach Russian language for all age categories including youngsters , women and the elderly.
He noted that the center is a starting point for the opening of medical centers later affiliated with the Syrian-Russian Peace initiative in various governorates .
“The center also provides psychological support to students through refining and developing their talents, encouraging and honoring them through the interactive activities that are held” Mr.Najib said.
He indicated that the center acts as an incubator highlighting students’ talents, and a collective exhibition is due to be held to showcase the students’ products after they joined the center’s courses in different domains.
“The Center is considered a message of peace addressed to the world to confirm that the Syrian people , who love peace and security, will not lose hope and stop supporting the new generation at all levels” Director Najib expressed.
Deputy Commander of the Russian Coordination Center in Hmeimim, Rear Admiral Vadim Collet, stressed the importance of the Syrian-Russian Peace Educational Center in supporting and providing various humanitarian and social services to the families of the martyrs and the wounded.”
In turn, Safwan Sae’ed, the supervisor of the center from the Russian-Syrian Peace Initiative told Syriatimes “The initiative is a series of continuous work between Syria and Russia and contributes to strengthening friendly relations between them at all medical, humanitarian and intellectual levels, and was carried out in coordination with the Russian Reconciliation Center.”
He made it clear the initiative is humanitarian, social, cultural, comprehensive and supportive in all fields, for citizens, the wounded of the Syrian Arab Army, and the families of martyrs.
Safwan added that the center is the first of its kind in the Damascus countryside, after the Syrian-Russian Peace Center opened a number of centers in several governorates.
