Syrian-Russian multi-Faceted Cooperation Stressed

DAMASCUS,(ST)_ Prime Minister Dr. Wael al-Halaqi  stressed that the Syrian people will never forget the Russian people and leadership ‘s principled positions against the global war on Syria, in international forums, and in providing humanitarian assistance to enhance their steadfastness.

During a meeting yesterday with the delegation of the Palestinian Orthodox Empire Assembly in Russia, headed by Sergei Stepashin, he added that the Russian positions re- balanced the international arena through standing by international justice and preventing colonial powers from interference in the internal affairs of States and destabilizing the security and stability of the region to serve Zionist interests in the region, pointing out that Russia’s stances towards Syria comply with the historical and strategic relations between the two friendly countries and peoples.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of strengthening economic and trade relations between the two countries in support of the national economy against the economic war and the unjust and systematic aggression targeting the Syrian people and infrastructure.

 He appreciated the role played by the Russian Assembly in providing relief and humanitarian aids world-wide, and also for the Syria people, thereby wins trust and respect of all peoples of the world.

For his part, Stepashin underlined the importance of the legendary steadfastness of the Syrian people in the face of the unjust war and its impact on the continued rotation of the wheel of life and reconstruction, stressing the Russian people support for Syria ‘s steadfastness.

Talks dealt with prospects of joint trade, economic, educational, cultural and cooperation, contribution of Russian companies in the reconstruction of Syria and the promotion of trade and commodity exchange and the establishment of joint venture development projects.

The prime minister renewed assertion that there will be place in the building and reconstruction of Syria but to friends, foremost Russia, calling on Russian companies and businessmen to carry out development projects in Syria, especially after the return of security and stability to most of the Syrian territory.

The meeting was attended by the Russian ambassador in Damascus.
