Syrian-Russian Cooperation in Terrorism Fighting Resulted in Great Achievements: Al-Lahham

DAMASCUS, (ST)-The important role the Syrian communities abroad can play in uncovering the reality of the terrorist war, which have been targeting Syria over the past four years, and in reconstructing what the armed terrorist organizations have destroyed in the country was the focus of yesterday’s meeting of People’s Assembly Speaker Mohammad Jihad al-Lahham with members of a delegation representing the Syrian community in Russia.

Al-Lahham stressed to the Syrian expatriates that the ongoing crisis in Syria and the unjust economic siege imposed on the Syrian people haven’t weakened the morale of the Syrian people and their determination to keep steadfast in the confrontation of terrorism.

“The Syrian government spares no effort as to meet the basic needs of citizens and improve the service situation which has been severely targeted by terrorist attacks, al-Lahham said.

“Syrian-Russian cooperation in the fight against terrorism has resulted in great achievements on ground by the Syrian Arab Army and has inflicted heavy losses among the terrorists,” al-Lahham added, pointing out that a year after it was established the so-called US-led international coalition against ISIL was proved to be a failure because it has been nothing more than propaganda.

On his part, leader of the delegation Wael Jneid, Head of the Syrian Community in Russia, hailed the steadfastness and defiance of the Syrian people in the face of terrorism and lauded the courage of Syrian army and its determination to restore security and stability to all Syria.

Jneid stressed that all the Syrian expatriates in Russia are ready to contribute to rebuilding Syria which will continue to be the cradle of civilizations and the oasis of amity, fraternity and peace.
