Syrian –Russian Businessmen Forum to be Held in Moscow

Moscow, (ST) -The Executive Director of the Syrian –Russian Business Council Dr. Louay Youssef said preparations for the meeting of the Syrian – Russian Business Forum, to be held in Moscow in February, 2018 have started intensively.

“We have begun preparations for the meeting of the Syrian – Russian Business Forum, which will include 120 companies from each side. The forum was adopted at the closing session of the tenth session of the Russian government committee for Syrian cooperation between the two countries which was held in the Russian city of Sochi on the 10th of the current month, “Russia quoted Yusuf as saying.

 “We have started to communicate with the businessmen from 85 provinces and republics within the Russian Federation as strength that we will provide every facility for the Syrian side from visa issuance, providing halls for the Forum as well as providing up to 50% discount in hotels for the Syrian delegations,” Mr. Yusuf added.

He  clarified that the forum aims at enhancing economic cooperation and trade exchange between Russia and Syria and working on what was agreed at this session and the previous sessions of the committee and encouraging the export of Syrian products which can compete in the Russian markets and increase the volume of Russian exports to Syria and invite Russian companies to invest and participate in various economic fields and reconstruction, especially with the preference and privileges granted by the Syrian government to Russian companies.

 The Russian-Syrian Joint Committee for Economic, Commercial, Science and Technical Cooperation discussed in Sochi last week the ways of joint cooperation between companies and expanding Russian investments in Syria and to participate in the reconstruction of basic infrastructure and concluded with the signing of several agreements in these areas.
