PROVINCES, (ST)_Syrian air forces have carried out airstrikes against terrorist organizations in Idleb, Hama, Aleppo, Der Ezzour and Lattakia, while the Russian warplanes have destroyed arms caches plus scores of vehicles for terrorists in Lattakia, Idleb and Homs.
According to a military source, Syrian air forces struck hideouts of the ‘Jaish al-Fateh’, the al-Nusra Front in Jesr Esh-Shugur city, al-Hbit and al-Qsabeyeh towns in Idleb countryside, killing many terrorists and destroying several vehicles belonging to them.
A leader in the ‘Jaish al-Fateh’ [Army of the Conquest], dubbed Abo Azzam, was among the terrorists killed in the airstrikes, according to social media.
Further terrorists were eliminated in al-Latamneh and al-Mansoura towns in the northern and northwestern countryside of Hama province as well as in Khatemlo town in the eastern countryside of the same province during airstrikes conducted by Syrian air forces.
The official news agency (SANA) reported that Syrian air forces destroyed several arms caches belonging to ISIS terrorists on the outskirts of al-Shaer gas field in the eastern countryside of Homs and bombed ISIS hideouts in al-Qaryateen town, about 85km east of Homs city.
Clashes between Syrian army units and terrorist groups in Quneitra, Daraa, Palmyra
It quoted a military source as saying that army units warded off ISIS terrorist groups’ attacks on military posts north-east of quarries area in Palmyra countryside.
Another fighting erupted between an army unit and an armed terrorist group in Daraa al-Balad area in southern Daraa province, according to SANA.
The agency added that army units in cooperation with popular defense groups clashed with terrorists affiliated to al-Nusra Front in Quneitra countryside.
“The terrorists came from Beit Jen in the southwestern countryside of Damascus, which is adjacent to the northern countryside of Quneitra, towards the surrounding of Hadar town,” a military source said, confirming that many terrorists were killed and injured in the confrontations.
The confrontations coincided with targeting terrorist organizations in Tranjeh town in the same province [Quneitra] and in al-Jafra, al-Mre’eyeh and al-Hatleh towns in Der Ezzour province as well as in towns of al-Dorra and al-Rihaneyeh in the northern countryside of Lattakia.
Many terrorists were killed and injured in the said areas and in several areas in and outside Aleppo province.
Russian air strikes targets ISIS technical support, command system
In another development, The Sputnik quoted the Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Gen.-Maj. Igor Konashenkov as saying on Monday that the Russian Air Force has carried out airstrikes in Syria’s Homs province against three Islamic State facilities and destroyed two weapons depots.
“Two terrorist arms depots were destroyed by Su-34 [Fullback fighter bombers] and Su-24 [Fencer attack aircraft]. The depots caught on fire after the strikes, destroying the facilities,” Konashenkov told journalists.
“In a forest area near Idleib, a hidden terrorist base was detected,” the Defense Ministry spokesman said. There were about 30 automobiles and armored vehicles including T-55 tanks seized from the Syrian army earlier.
In addition, Russian Su-24M bombers have completely wiped out ISIS command point near the city of Al-Rastan in Homs province.
“As a result of a direct hit, the object was completely destroyed,” Konashenkov said.
Three facilities used by ISIS terrorists were also hit near Talbiseh in the Homs province.
Russian Su-25 attack aircraft hit an ISIS camp near Jisr al-Shughur in the Idleb province, destroying a terrorist warehouse and four vehicles, which caught fire when ammunition detonated, Konashenkov added.
Altogether, the Russian air group deployed in Syria struck nine Islamic State facilities over the past 24 hours. Russian Su-34, Su-24M, Su-25 jets completed a total of 25 sorties from the Hmeymim airbase, according to the ministry.
All Russian Air Force airstrikes in Syria are directed at the disorganization of the command system, as well as against the ISIS technical support, Konashenkov said.
