Damascus University and Moscow State University of Food Production on Saturday signed a memorandum of intent to enhance academic cooperation in the field of agricultural production and development and to empower strategic partnerships based on equality and mutual benefit.
The memo, which was signed by rectors of the two universities, aims at boosting bilateral ties, mainly in research and education activities. It provides for cooperation in developing joint research programs during undergraduate and postgraduate stages, including Masters and PhD programs. It also recommends expanding scientific cooperation and joint research in different domains of common interests.

According to the memo, the two sides agreed on holding training courses to raise the efficiency of the students and the teaching staff in higher education programs and to exchange experiences and modern educational methods. The two sides also agreed on organizing international scientific meetings and conferences to discuss research and education projects.
The memo is valid for ten years and it can be renewed through an agreement between the two sides.
