Syrian researchers, technologists at home and abroad to discuss their role in economic development in post-war Syria

The Second Conference for Syrian Researchers Abroad is to kick off on Tuesday August 11, 2020 under the patronage of Minister of Higher Education Bassam Ibrahim.

The online conference, organized by the Higher Commission for Scientific Research in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates and the Network of Syrian Scientists, Technologists and Innovators Abroad (NOSSTIA), will focus on the role of Syrian researchers at home and abroad in economic development in post-war Syria.  

Sessions during the conference will discuss issues relating to Information and Communication Technology (ICT), knowledge and technology administration, the applications of biotechnology, nano-technology as well as the energy and environment technology. 

 The main focus will be on the role of science, technology and innovation in achieving economic development and reconstruction in Syria, on attracting local and foreign investments and on applying up-to-date technology in agriculture and economic activities.

Syrian researchers and technologists from inside the country and abroad will take part in this three-day event which will be an opportunity for the Syrian expatriates to present their innovative ideas and experiences in the field of reconstruction.
