Syrian researchers and expatriates debate the establishment of active companies in a conference that promotes “Knowledgable economy”
DAMASCUS, (ST)_Syrian researchers and expatriates from 15 countries are taking part in a three-day conference that kicked off on Tuesday to discuss scientific issues related to Information Technology, Telecommunication, Nanobiotechnology, and the technology of power and environment.
The conference is being held under the slogan” Towards a Knowledgable Economy…The role of Syrian Researchers in the homeland and abroad” at the headquarters of the Scientific Research’s Higher Commission in Damascus.
Remote Sensing Commission in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, NOSTIA [Network of Syrian Scientists, Technologists and Innovators Abroad], International Cooperation and Planning Commission, Syrian Computer Society and the Arab School of Sciences and Technology have organized the activity that aims to establish active companies in the fields of research.
The participants talked today about the importance of the return of Syrian immigrants and implementing laws that support production in the fields of industry and software as well as focusing on leading individual initiatives and IT security.
Virtual symposiums in the fields of economy, environment, power, health, agriculture ..etc are due to be held in the near future, according to the Director-General of the Scientific Research’s Higher Commission.
Head of the International Cooperation and Planning Commission made it clear that the national program of Syria after the war aims at putting a comprehensive strategic plan for both the state and the society to treat the effects of the crisis and to confront the current and future challenges.
