L’Oréal-UNESCO for Women in Science in France honored Dr. Waad Safatli from Al-Baath University with the 2022 L’Oréal-UNESCO International Rising Talent Award for her research entitled: “A Study of the Evolution of Galaxies throughout the History of the Universe”.
Safatli’s research won, along with 15 other research papers worldwide, for the year 2022, among the approximately 260 PhD and post-doctoral researchers that won national and regional programs in the L’Oréal-UNESCO program, noting that Safatli had previously been awarded the L’Oréal-UNESCO Levant level for the year 2021.
Safatli confirmed that honoring her constitutes a great incentive and motive for her to continue her scientific activity, expressing her happiness with this success, which she considered a success for the birth of Syria with scientists and researchers in the world, in addition to its contribution to raising the scientific classification of Al-Baath University globally.
It is noteworthy that the honoring took place in France at the UNESCO building in Paris, in the presence of the heads of UNESCO and L’Oréal, ambassadors of the participating countries, scientific and humanitarian organizations, and distinguished scientific and social figures.
