Syrian Red Crescent holds emergency meeting to discuss urgent humanitarian needs in Lattakia and Tartous
The Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) Organization today held an emergency meeting with the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation in Syria, Stephane Sakalian, and representatives of humanitarian partners in the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Talks dealt with the urgent humanitarian needs in Lattakia and Tartous.
The meeting, as the organization reported on its Telegram channel, addressed cooperation and coordination to meet humanitarian needs in the two governorates. It was agreed to mobilize resources to respond to these needs, in a way that alleviates the suffering and hardship of the population, in parallel with the continuation of humanitarian efforts across Syria.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the International Committee of the Red Cross, a number of national societies, the organization’s Secretary-General, Raya Ramadan, and the concerned directors.
