“One Blood One Syria” is a slogan for the blood donation campaign that the Syrian Red Crescent concluded yesterday with an event at Opera House in Damascus.
This Campaign was launched on the 8th of this month in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and local community, supported by the German Red Cross.
The event began with a short film about the establishment of the Syrian Red Crescent in 1920 by Ms. Nazek Al-Abed.
The current blood donation campaign has attracted 8,450 donors aiming to ensure sufficient and safe supplies for the blood banks for those in need, especially patients with thalassemia and Leukemia.
12 governorates joined the campaign with the participation of all society segments.
The organization decided to launch the campaign as a humanitarian initiative to help address the acute shortage of blood supplies in blood banks, which has become a threat to the lives and safety of many patients.
During the event, the organization’s president, Dr.Hazem Baqlah, emphasized in his speech that the event represents a state of solidarity and cohesion among all segments of the Syrian people.
