Syrian poetess Dana Abu Mahmoud reaches the semi-final stage of the Prince of Poets competition in the UAE

Damascus (ST): The Syrian “Dana Abu Mahmoud” chose poetry as her voice to prove her talent in local and Arab competitions, and to confirm that a person is able to overcome all obstacles and difficulties that may come in his way.

Dana, who today represents Syria  in Arab poetic platforms through her participation in the “Prince of Poets” competition in its tenth season in the United Arab Emirates, reached the semi-finals, after going through many stages, the first of which was sending the poetic text and its necessary attachments.1300 poets submitted to this stage from different Arab countries, so that 150 of them were chosen, and then they moved to the first round of interviews with the committee, in which she obtained the text’s authorization unanimously.

The next stage was the selection of Dana among only forty poets whose texts were approved to embark on a journey of improvisation, which was not an easy step.

After that, Dana moved to the stage of selecting only twenty poets to start in the live broadcast episodes, which is more “interesting” in which she obtained the second highest public vote, which enabled her to reach the semi-finals stage in the program.
