Syrian pianist ranks first in a musical competition in Switzerland

Juman Omran, a Syrian pianist, ranked first among tens of other musicians who took part in a piano competition in Switzerland.

In a statement to SANA, Juman said that the competition is an annual event sponsored by the Swiss government, pointing out that dozens of pianists of different age categories took part in the contest.

The Syrian musician, who is currently completing her higher academic study in Poland, clarified that winning the first position in this contest is the beginning of a long road she has drawn up several years ago and she plans to complete this road until she achieves a leading artistic position at the international level.

During the competition, Juman presented three musical masterpieces, including Beethoven’s Sonata “The Storm”, Chopin’s Ballade No. 1 and Chopin’s Study “Black Keys”

Musician Juman Omran graduated from the  Higher Institute of Music in Damascus in 2005. She taught solfege and piano playing at Sulhi Al-Wadi Institute and the Higher Institute of Music and she took part in several concerts at the Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Art in Damascus.
