Syrian-Palestinian discussions on means of cooperation to develop agricultural sector

The Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Eng. Muhammad Hassan Qatna, discussed with the Palestinian Minister of Agriculture Riyad Attari and the accompanying delegation today cooperation in the agricultural sector and  support offered for the research aspect and the exchange of experiences.

Minister Qatna reviewed the reality of the agricultural sector in Syria and the losses it suffered due to the terrorist war against it, stressing the importance of joint cooperation and benefiting from the experiences of neighboring countries in the field of Research and studies.

 

Minister Attari referred to the difficulties that the agricultural sector suffers from in Palestine due to the policies of the Israeli occupation and its attacks on the lands. He pointed to  the importance of providing support in the field of agricultural guidance services and the development of fish farms and in the introduction of alternative energies to run wells.

Director of the Arab Center for Studies of Arid Areas and Dry Zones “ACSAD” Dr. Nasr El-Din El-Obeid, noted that the center is working to achieve integration between the Arab countries, which  benefit from the programs and projects implemented by the center, especially the cultivation of improved seed varieties with high yielding production.
