Syrian-Palestinian Coordination to Deliver Relief Aids to Yarmouk Camp

DAMASCUS,(ST)_ Minister of Social Affairs Dr. Kinda al-Shammat discussed today with Palestinian Labor Minister Ahmed Majdalani ways to deliver relief aid to the people in al-Yarmouk camp and families displaced from it because of the crisis in Syria .

The minister emphasized the importance of developing a plan and a clear vision with parties concerned to find out an executive mechanism for the delivery of relief assistance through the ” safe passages ” enabling people in the camp to get their basic needs , of which they were deprived as a result of armed groups terrorism. .
She called to focus on the humanitarian issue in the camp and address the situation of the affected , noting that  “there are parties trying to thwart all initiatives aiming to resolve the camp crisis politically.”
For his part, minister Majdalani noted that the armed terrorist groups in the camp , prevented the arrival of aid to people in the camp and treat them as a political hostage , stressing ” Palestinian side keenness to  coordinate with the Syrian side to facilitate the access of food relief and medical supplies to the camp.

He explained that the initiative launched by the People’s Reconciliation Commission to resolve the crisis in the camp last August aimed at getting the militants out of it and neutralize the Palestinians, so as not to be a party to the crisis in Syria and ensure the return of people to their homes in the camp.

The meeting was attended by the Palestinian Ambassador in Damascus Mahmoud al-Khalidi.
