Syrian-Pakistani Talks to Strengthen Economic Relations

The Chairman and Members of the Board of Directors of the Damascus Industry Chamber and its countryside discussed yesterday with the Chargé d ‘affaires of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Damascus Omar Hayat Khan ways to strengthen and develop economic and commercial relations between the two countries.

The meeting addressed the areas of industrial and commercial cooperation and the possibility of establishing joint partnerships and investments , exchanging experiences and visits between businessmen in both states.

Hayat Khan stressed the need to overcome the difficulties encountered in strengthening cooperation between the two countries during the past period, most notably the economic sanctions imposed on Syria, noting that trade relations will be greatly improved in the light of the great openness in Damascus following the lifting of sanctions imposed earlier.

In turn, the President of the Damascus and its countryside Industry Chamber, Engineer Mohammed Ayman Al-Mawlawi, highlighted the importance of establishing partnerships and joint investments between the two countries, exchanging experiences and visits between businessmen in both countries.
