The Syrian “ Orjowan”  Choral   ( The Adult Choir)  is  participating  in the World  Choir Festival on Music for  Peace  which is  broadcasted on foreign TV channels and social media on Saturday and Sunday.

The founder of  “Orjowan” choir  Bisher Issa  told  SANA that the participation of a Syrian choral along with 72 choirs  from all over the world in an international musical event, which symbolizes peace and love,  is clear evidence  of the Syrian  people’s deep-rooted culture and civilization, especially since the participating choirs were selected from among hundreds choirs .

He  indicated  that the  “Golden Branch” award  will be presented for participants   as a token of love and friendship between peoples.

Issa pointed out that the participation of “ Orjowan “ choir is  through two pieces of Syrian heritage  music that were sent to the International Federation for  Choral Music ( IFCM).

He explained that the  two pieces of music  were shot  in the ancient Cathedral of Our Lady in Tartous , or what is known as  Tartous Museum, because this museum has a unique privacy which  conveys  Syria’s  cultural message and is compatible with the participating two  pieces  of music in the festival .

According to Issa, a documentary about Syria will be presented at the request of the IFCM   as an identification card by  the participating choirs about their countries.

He indicated  that the movie  shows  a presentation of the most important archaeological, historical, heritage and tourist sites  in  various governorates and was  filmed in a professional manner befitting the position of Syria and its civilization.

The founder Issa highlighted the fact that Orjowan’s  choral participation aims at addressing a message to the world stating   that “we will remain a country of civilization, art and beauty.  Despite the war and siege, we  will cross all borders to reach the world and say that we are a people who love peace, beauty and art”.

It is noteworthy that the “Orjowan”  choir was founded in 2015 and is a member at  the IFCM  . It   consists of 3 children, adolescents and adults  choirs including  about 200 people of different ages from 7 to 55.  The choir  presents  all styles of Eastern and Western music in 17 languages, starting from the European Renaissance and the Baroque period, passing through the classical  to reach  the modern era, jazz, rock and four voices, which is the style that characterized the Arab choir.
