Syrian-Omani talks on ways to boost joint investment

Syria’s ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, Dr. Idris Maya, discussed today with the head of the Omani Investment Authority, Abdul Salam bin Muhammad Al-Murshidi, ways to enhance joint investment between the two countries.

During the meeting, Al-Murshidi confirmed the availability of the sincere desire of the Omani Investment Authority to improve relations with Syria in this field.

He pointed out to the authority’s interest in some sectors that can be worked on and discuss cooperation in during the coming period, including the food and pharmaceutical industries.

For his part, Ambassador Maya reviewed during the meeting the investment situation in Syria, pointing to the facilities and privileges provided by the Syrian government in accordance with Investment Law No. 18 of 2021.

He also referred to the great potential of the Syrian and Omani sides in various economic sectors that can be employed to serve the interests of the two brotherly countries and peoples.

He said that the Syrian government attaches great importance to strengthening and developing relations with Oman in all fields, especially in the field of investment.

The meeting was attended by Counselor Fattouh Qudsiyeh and the diplomatic attache HalaSukour.
