A dialogue was held on Tuesday between the Syrian-Chinese parliamentary Friendship Association and the Chinese Ambassador to Syria Qi Qianjin on economic issues of common interests.
Both sides discussed China’s role in economic and services projects, the possibility of increasing scholarships for Syrian students in China and exchanging technical experiences in reconstruction process, according to a press release issued by the Syrian People’s Assembly [parliament].
Members of the association congratulated the Chinese Ambassador on the re-election of Xi Jinping as the President of China.
On his part, the ambassador expressed his pleasure for meeting the association’s members and congratulated the Syrian people on victories being achieved by Syrian army in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus.
He referred to the Syrian government’s efforts to evacuate civilians from the Eastern Ghouta to safe areas, asserting the importance of President Bashar al-Assad’s visit to the frontlines in Ghouta.
“President al-Assad’s visit to the frontlines in the Eastern Ghouta reassured the Syrian people and it was an important message to the whole world,” the Chinese ambassador said, affirming that his country will continue to support the Syrian people, army and government.
The Syrian-Chinese Association is composed of 12 MPs including its head Mohammad Hamsho.
