Syrian Movie “The Lover”

The General Establishment for Cinema will participate by ” the Lover” movie in the Geneva Film Festival for eastern movies which will be held in the period between April 4 to 13/2014.

It is worth mentioning that “The Lover” movie was produced by The General Establishment for Cinema in 2012, written and directed by Abdellatif Abdelhamid , starring Abdel Moneim Amayre , Dima Qandalaft , Fadi Sobaih and Qays Sheikh Najib .

The movie narrates the story of a filmmaker who depicts his first movie through which he expresses his memories in his small coastal village. He regains memories of his childhood with all its sufferings, he also mentions the story of his first love and the disappointments and pains when he was forced to leave his lover.

Later he moved to the city of Damascus to complete his study but he faced many new pressures and different relationships that were imposed upon him by the life in this great city. After that, he lives a new love story with his neighbor’s daughter” Rima” who also suffers great deal from the rigors of her conservative family.

It is obvious that the hero of “The Lover” movie succeeds in narrating his story in details through the overlap in times between his childhood and his first love in his village, and his time in Damascus.
