Syrian mothers leave clear imprints in various fields of life

Despite all the challenges that Syrian women face under the circumstances of the siege imposed on the country, they have proven their ability to reconcile their reality as a mother and their fields of work to leave clear imprints in various fields of life.

The writer Faiza Al-Qadri, director of the Cultural Center in Qamishli, who started her work in the educational sector as a teacher and school principal in the city of Amuda, says in her interview with the reporter of the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA): “There is a challenge facing the working mother, which requires great additional effort from her and absence from the family for hours, and this may cause pressure on the mother and the family, and this affects her role at work.”
She added that the success in her role as a mother is based on her keenness to organize and invest time

Wadha Al-Kaniher, who recently opened a fast-food restaurant and ensured job opportunities for 5 other mothers, believes that opening the restaurant as a small project comes within the framework of her endeavor to have a financial stability for her family and the families of mothers working with her and to provide everything they need.

“The mother is the one who gives joy and shares with others all the happy moments,” she added.

For her part, the pharmacist, Samar Al-Somai, left an imprint in the relief and humanitarian work. She offered help to those who are in need, especially children and people with disabilities.

The catastrophe of the earthquake that hit Syria on the 6th of February caused a major change in the lives of the Syrians. Since the first hours of the disaster, people from different provinces have called for finding ways to extend a helping hand to the affected.

Some mothers in Daraa had an important role in helping and supporting the peoples affected by the quake. For example, Mrs. Abeer Al-Asaad, a mother of two young men. She was at the forefront of the women of Daraa, who mobilized all their capabilities to provide assistance to the affected governorates, and launched, through social media, appeals to collect donations for the benefit of the afflicted, and worked on the ground through a network of social relations to motivate dozens of young men and women to actively participate in collecting donations.

Mrs. Tahani Nawaf Al-Zayla from Sweida is a mother of two young men, and her age has prevented her from pursuing her university studies, armed with hope, will and ambition to overcome all circumstances to achieve her aspirations.

Mrs. Hamida from Raqqa and the mother of a martyr said that she followed a literacy course in the liberated countryside of Raqqa and was able to support her husband to read and write, but her ambition was greater than that and she wants to continue her studies until she obtains a high school certificate.
