MUSCAT – Syria’s military football team qualified for the semi-finals of the World Military Football Cup in Muscat, Oman after beating Germany 2-1.
The first half of the match ended with a tie. The German team opened the scoring in the 12th minute of the second half while the Syrian player Mohammed al-Waked secured a draw from a penalty kick in the 32nd minute.
Al-Waked scored the second goal in the last minute of the match, SANA reported.
Syria’s military football team qualified for the quarterfinals topping Group D with 7 points after beating both Canada (3-1) and Poland (1-0) and tied 0–0 with Egypt.
